Jaime King credits running around after her 23-month-old son with helping her lose pregnancy weight.

The 36-year-old gave birth to son Leo on July 16, her second child with husband Kyle Newman. The Hart of Dixie actress showed off her flat stomach during an outing in New York over the weekend but Jaime insists it wasn’t down to dieting, as it’s something she actually despises.

“I don’t believe in the word diet because I think the word dieting comes with judgment,” she told People magazine. “When I hear the word diet, I want to punch the word in the face because it tells people that you can’t have something and you should be able to have things that love and nourish your body.”

Instead, Jaime credits organic delivery service Paleta and Ballet Beautiful with helping her shift the pounds, but reiterated that her healthy eating plan should not be classed as a diet. Her first born, 23-month-old son James has also helped her keep active.

“I was chasing [him] around for my entire pregnancy and then chasing [him] around as soon as I had the baby,” she laughed.

When it comes to food, Jaime does her best to be healthy but doesn’t restrict herself from having occasional treats.

“I feel like I ‘dieted’ my whole life in some way shape or form,” she continued. “When I let go of it and said, ‘I’m not doing this anymore’ — when I stopped letting go of the judgment of eating cake or cookies or having burgers, which are my favourite thing in the whole world — then I finally was at a balanced weight.”
