January Jones knew Mad Men was a success when she noticed 1960's fashion making a comeback.
The highly-successful series is set in a fictional advertising agency in New York City during the 1960s.
The 35-year-old actress stars as captivating housewife Betty Draper in the drama, a role which has required her to don the fashions from the era since 2007.
As the show went on, vintage clothing became big on the streets.
“That’s when I knew it had become so much more than a TV show. It was a cultural phenomenon,” January told the British edition of Glamour magazine. “Fashions were changing as a result of the show. It was like the '60s were back.”
The mother-of-one is known for her striking good looks, which include a fair complexion, big blue eyes and a naturally svelte frame. The star says she has a matter-of -fact attitude when it comes to her diet, which helped her shed the baby weight after giving birth to son Xander 16 months ago.
“I think I do a good job of listening to my body. If I’m half way through a meal and I feel full, I’ll stop eating. Sometime I crave meat, so I eat meat,” she continued. “I don’t over indulge, but I don’t feel like I ever deprive myself of anything. And I’ve never done much exercise – I did a lot of pre-natal yoga when I was pregnant.”
