Jennifer Lawrence stuns in strapless Dior gown
Jennifer Lawrence scooped the prize for best dressed actress in a strapless Dior Haute Couture gown at the 2013 Academy Awards.
The 22-year-old scooped the best actress award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook at the prestigious ceremony.
Jennifer looked radiant as she accepted her prize on stage dressed in the elegant floor-length creation from the designer's spring 2013 couture collection.
The strapless pale-coloured princess gown contained an elaborate full skirt that complemented the figure-hugging top section.
Jennifer chose to pull her hair away from her face in a relaxed up do, and wore Chopard jewels that included a fine necklace which cascaded down her back to finish off her look.
The big dress and high heels combination caused the star to take a tumble while climbing the stairs to accept her award.
Speaking about her fall backstage, Jennifer blamed the heavy and awkward skirt for her mishap.
"Was that on purpose? Absolutely! What happened? What do you mean what happened - look at my dress! I tried to walk upstairs in this dress, that's what happened. I tried to walk upstairs and stepped on the fabric," Jennifer told Popsugar. "They waxed the stairs. What was going through my mind? A bad word that I can't say that starts with F."
Despite her fall, Jennifer still managed to wow as one of the most glamorous stars at the ceremony. Jennifer revealed she had found the process of getting ready particularly stressful.
"I'm just cross-eyed! The process today was so stressful. I felt like Steve Martin in Father of the Bride watching my house just get torn apart. My whole family was getting ready. My friends stopped by; it was kind of fun, but it was mostly chaotic. I dunno, I just woke up and tried on the dress and it fit - thank god - and then I took a shower. That's what I did!" Jennifer explained. "I got my hair and make-up done... and then I came to the Oscars! I'm sorry, I took a shot before coming back here. Sorry!"
Other leading ladies making glamorous red carpet style statements included Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron and Salma Hayek.
