Jeremy Irvine likes to lather up

Jeremy Irvine only uses soap when he doesn't have any shampoo.

The British actor's career is on the rise with roles in movies such as The Railway Man, meaning he is spending increased amounts of time in Los Angeles. He is adamant his new surroundings haven't affected him too much though.

"This is what I do: I get in the shower and use shampoo, if there's shampoo. If not, soap will do," he told British magazine InStyle, when quizzed about how his beauty regime has changed. "I wash my hair and let the shampoo or soap wash down onto my face. And there you have it: my skincare routine."

His laidback approach to personal hygiene follows through to his fashion choices. Although he knows it's important to look his best at industry events, he isn't always that happy about what he has to wear.

"Getting me in a suit can be a struggle. I used to have rows with my publicist about dressing up for smart events," he admitted. "I turned up in jeans and a jacket to go to the Golden Globes once. She was not happy."

Despite his lack of interest in fashion, Jeremy always looks well turned out. He insists that is more to do with the people he hangs out with than any innate stylishness.

"I need help. I have a very fashionable flatmate who gives me style tips but I tend to dress in all black because it's easy. I don't particularly understand fashion," he admitted.
