Jessica Alba Met Gala look explained
Jessica Alba's side swept Met Gala hairstyle was inspired by the "asymmetrical look" that honouree Elsa Schiaparelli used to wear.
The stunning star wowed in a metallic gold pleated dress by Michael Kors and teamed the glamorous ensemble with side swept waves and chic red lipstick.
The annual ball is held in New York City and celebrates the Metropolitan Museum of Art's latest exhibition, usually about designers - this year entitled Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations.
Jessica's hairdresser Renato Campora chose to style the beauty's hair in honour of late fashion designer Schiaparelli.
Renato explained to Beauty High that "he was inspired by the asymmetrical look that Elsa Schiaparelli so often wore".
To create the look, Renato applied Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturising Spray Gel to wet hair and then gave Jessica a "strong side part" to create the base. He then dried her tresses with a round brush which created "volume and shine".
Renato's next task was to achieve the "body and shape" of the style - he used a one inch curling iron to do so. The hair expert brushed through the curls to "build waves starting from the side-part".
He then applied a small amount of Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream to "define" the waves and add a shine that would last throughout the night.
To complete the look, a bit of hairspray was spritzed throughout Jessica's hair.
