Jessica Alba is a fan of "bold, punchy lips" for a spring beauty look.

The actress shared her spring beauty essentials and discussed how she uses colour to perk up her complexion.

Jessica has recently launched her book The Honest Life, in which she details the importance of living an eco-friendly existence. Products that are kind to nature feature prominently in her make-up musts.

"A lot of the make-up we put on our faces is filled with toxins. The good news is that the natural trend is growing, so there have been major improvements in brands creating eco-friendly/non-toxic beauty products that work. I try to use these products whenever possible although I have a few tried-and-true faves I can't give up," Jessica told StyleList.com. "This spring, I'm looking forward to bold, punchy lips - I love to use colour to express myself."

Jessica suffers from dry skin on her face. As a result products that help to hydrate are her favourites.

“Because I have skin that tends to be dry, I love Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Moisture Foundation - it feels like moisturiser without being oily. It looks amazing on camera or off, but it’s super lightweight," she shared.

“Since I started using this cleanser [Suki Moisture Rich Cleansing Lotion] I’ve noticed that I no longer break out after wearing studio make-up for hours on a movie set.”

Jessica has a gorgeous sun-kissed appearance, and is careful about applying sun screen every day. The star revealed the secret behind her glow is contouring the face with a bronzer and highlighter.

“Look for an oil-free daily sunscreen formula if your skin is oily, or a hydrating one if you have normal to dry skin. I love Cell-Ceuticals for super sunny days because I can pare down on the products I have to use,” she continued. "Staying out of the sun is key, so I turn to bronzer to capture that sun-kissed glow. Hourglass has a great crème-to-powder bronzer duo that looks really natural.”
