Jessica Lange for Marc Jacobs Beauty
Marc Jacobs Beauty has hired Jessica Lange as the new face of the brand.
The 64-year-old actress will front the campaigns for the designer’s cosmetics range.
A representative of the company announced the news on the brand’s official Twitter page, accompanied with a snapshot of Jessica.
Her short blonde hair is curled and she gazes into the distance, with grey smoky eyeshadow and nude lipstick visible on her face.
“Announcing the new face of @MarcBeauty, Jessica Lange! Campaign shot by David Sims,” the brand wrote with a link to Marc Jacobs Beauty’s website.
Fans of the fashion designer and actress were quick to respond. Many of them praised the decision to have Jessica involved with the make-up products.
User @ntiedemann wrote: “@MarcJacobsIntl @MarcBeauty what a brilliant choice! I absolutely adore Jessica Lange! (sic)”
The beauty page itself too shared its joy at its new recruit, posting: “We couldn’t be more excited!”
During New York Fashion Week earlier this month Jessica had an input in Marc Jacobs’ Fall/Winter 14 runway show. She provided the spoken-word soundtrack for his production as models strutted down the catwalk.
Jessica becoming the face of the beauty products follows an announcement NARS Cosmetics made yesterday.
The company brought on British star Charlotte Rampling, 68, to be the face of its new range ahead of its 20th anniversary campaign in September.
NARS’ creative director François Nars praised the iconic actress and her looks.
“She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable,” he told WWD.
“Charlotte’s ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character.”
