Jessica Simpson has given the winner of Fashion Star advice on "showing off a woman's curves" when designing.
The singer-turned-fashion designer has had huge success with her booming clothing empire, and shared her knowledge of the industry with the winner of the US reality TV series Hunter Bell.
Hunter beat 12 other designers to scoop the prize of launching her original collection in three of America's largest fashion retailers Express, Macy’s and Saks.
She may not have reached her goal without the help of mentor Jessica.
“I worked closely with Jessica, and she was always a sounding board for me to stay true to my own design aesthetic, but also very encouraging with the advice of making sure to show off a women’s curves with my designs and to be more sexy with them,” Hunter told PEOPLE at an Express breakfast showcasing her line. “In this industry you need to be open to advice.”
Along with Jessica, who has the highest grossing celebrity brand in history, the Fashion Star hopefuls were guided by successful style icon Nicole Richie and menswear designer John Varvatos.
In February Jessica explained what she hoped to achieved with her spring clothing collection. Her pieces, which are nearly all under $200, can be widely obtained in US chain stores Macy's and Nordstrom in a variety of sizes.
“I want everyone to be able to wear my designs,” Jessica told PEOPLE. “The collection is accessible - from extra-small to plus and maternity, there is something for everyone to feel great in.”
