Jessica Simpson is said to have given herself a strict weight loss deadline.
The 33-year-old singer-and-designer gave birth to her second child, a son called Ace Knute, in June.
Jessica became engaged to former American footballer Eric Johnson in 2010.
The pair were forced to cancel their original wedding after Jessica fell pregnant with their daughter Maxwell, who was born in May 2012.
Sources say the couple are keen to tie the knot again now, but Jessica will only do so if she can shed some of the 42lbs of weight she gained with Ace.
"[Jessica is] adamant she wants to be a slim bride," a friend told the latest edition of UK magazine Closer. "She has just over 28lbs to lose. Her goal is to be a UK size 12 for the wedding and at the moment she is a UK size 16. She hasn't set a date but ideally it would be by the end of September."
Jessica famously lost almost 56lbs of baby weight last year after signing a multimillion dollar deal with Weight Watchers. Friends say she hopes to use the weight loss program again to help her achieve incredible results quickly.
"Jess is already back on Weight Watchers," an insider continued. "She's desperate to marry Eric this year and be in the best shape of her life."
The Fashion Star mentor has also directed her chef to make healthier calorie-conscious food to ensure that she’ll be wedding dress ready in time for her big day.
Jessica previously joked to US Weekly that she has to get hitched within a few months of Ace's birth for fear of falling pregnant with baby number three.
"Let’s have this wedding already before I get pregnant with another one!" she jested.
