Jewel tones offer excitement
For the ultimate in opulence this season indulge in rich jewel tones.
The trend works perfectly for Fall/Winter as the deep hues warm up cool nights and enhance Fall shades. Amber, amethyst, ruby and emerald were all showcased on this season's runways.
Michael Van Der Ham gave his jewels an extra polish by using crushed velvet to emphasis the feeling of luxury.
Gucci draped sapphire over their models and trimmed the look with matching faux fur. Proenza Schouler injected blacks and browns with occasional hits of ruby and amber.
There are a number of ways to wear the look. For daytime opt for a small spark of colour in between darker shades. Try layering a bright amber top underneath a black jacket and team with skinny jeans and boots.
For the evening take inspiration from Michael Van Der Ham and wear a crushed velvet minidress in deep ruby. Pair the garment with black opaque tights and black heels. Keep accessories to a minimum and make-up natural or the style will become too fussy.
