Jennifer Lopez has shared her thoughts on being Kim Kardashian’s fashion idol.

The 45-year-old singer-and-actress donned a revealing red ballgown to the 2015 Met Gala, which had a China: Through the Looking Glass theme this year.

And Jennifer has revealed when she first saw images of the outfit, the star immediately knew she had to wear it.

“[Designer Donatella Versace] sent over one sketch of this red, dragon dress and that was it,” Jennifer recalled to USA Today. “She was like, ‘Do you like it?’ I was like, ‘I love it.’ Next thing I knew, a couple weeks later, she sent it over [and] I tried it on. It wasn’t a type of thing where it was like, ‘A thousand dresses, which one do I wear?’ … I think it was a beautiful creation, and again, Versace with me and Donatella, we’ve done so many amazing things over the years. She’s designed so many beautiful things for me to wear, and it was another great moment in that history of us.”

Kim Kardashian wore a similar dress to Jennifer’s, except the reality star’s attire was a sheer and white gown designed by Roberto Cavalli.

Jennifer reveals Kim acknowledges her as a style icon and the What to Expect When You’re Expecting actress couldn’t be more honoured by the compliment.

“Oh, I’ve met Kim many times. She tells me all the time that I’m her idol and stories about when she used to follow me when my first album was out, and stuff like that. It’s really sweet,” the Sweet Spot singer gushed. “She’s a sweet girl, and it’s very flattering to meet any of your fans! She’s always been very open about that and it’s very flattering to me. She’s a sweetheart.”
