Jodie 'suffocated' by shoes

Jodie Foster feels "claustrophobic" in shoes and struggles to find comfort in most footwear.

The Panic Room actress has always looked sleek and elegant while on the red carpet. However, when it comes to footwear, Jodie struggles to find comfort in most styles.

It has even got to the point where Jodie reportedly feels she is lacking space when wearing them.

"[Jodie feels] claustrophobic [in shoes]. It's a very bizarre quirk of hers," a source told US magazine National Enquirer.

Jodie gave fans a glimpse at her odd outlook during the premiere of her new film Elysium last month. She amused onlookers when she strolled around barefoot and complained about the pain her feet were in.

"Jodie strolled into the ladies' room, complaining about the painful price of fashion to anyone who would listen," an eyewitness said. "She went into the stall barefoot, and when she emerged she said, 'I hate shoes - especially heels!'"

The 50-year-old star enjoyed the attention surrounding her humorous behaviour. She instead accessorised her blue Roland Mouret dress with a small nude clutch bag, Martin Katz bracelets and an EF Collection ring.

"She was in a chipper mood and laughed at herself for walking around barefoot in front of people - she was very comfortable with it," the onlooker added.
