Joe Manganiello: I'm not very hairy
Joe Manganiello doesn't have any body hair, though he has no trouble growing out the hair on his head.
The rugged actor may play a werewolf in True Blood, but in real life he's nothing like his fury onscreen alter ego.
While being hair-free means Joe doesn't have to undergo painful waxing sessions to show off his toned torso, the 37-year-old is pleased that his head and face aren't as follically challenged as his body.
"You mean my hair on my head?" Joe responded when GQ UK asked him to explain his hair grooming regime. "I'm not actually hairy, I have no body hair at all. I have hair on my head and face which I guess is where it counts.
"It differs depending on whether I have short or long hair. When it was longer, I used this really light wax in a tube by Paul Mitchell. And, when I have it short, I use Kevin Murphy's Night Rider - I think that's what it's called, I don't really fuss over it."
Joe spends a lot of screen time in fantasy drama True Blood sans his clothes, and reveals he often warns his mother to leave the room when a steamy scene comes on.
He also showed off his buff body in 2012 male stripper movie Magic Mike, alongside Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey.
"I'm going to be the most jacked I've ever been for Magic Mike 2," he laughed of the sequel due out next year.
"It's not about what you can get away with, it's about becoming the best you can possibly can be," he added of his workout ethos. "It's not about the exterior. The aesthetics wind up becoming a bi-product of this internal work. It's more about motivating and being the best person you can be, and as a result your body will transform. It's not about vanity it's about evolving as a person."
