Julianne Moore’s Givenchy double
Julianne Moore thinks she is “very, very lucky” to have worn two custom Givenchy gowns on consecutive red carpets.
The 54-year-old took home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role trophy at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role in Still Alice. Julianne picked up the gong in a stunning emerald green dress and she revealed it was the second gown Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci created for her in a matter of days.
“Riccardo of Givenchy was designing my Golden Globes gown and he was nice enough to do something custom,” she explained to People magazine. “And he sent all these beautiful sketches, and we loved them so much. And we saw this green one as well, and we asked if maybe he would make another one for the SAG Awards, and he did. So that’s how that came about.”
Julianne’s deep green gown was heavily embellished with beading that cascaded down towards the hem. She teamed it with Chopard jewels and kept her red hair loose.
Meanwhile at the Golden Globes earlier this month, where she also won a Best Actress award, she wore a stunning metallic gown which featured a feather fishtail detail. Julianne doesn’t take the opportunity to wear such gorgeous garments for granted.
“I’m very, very lucky, to get to have worn two custom Givenchy gowns in a row,” she smiled.
Julianne’s winning looks hasn’t gone unnoticed by the fashion elite or by beauty brands, having landed a campaign with L’Oréal Paris.
“It’s a company that speaks to women all over the world, all different ages and cultures," she previously gushed to glow magazine. "There’s an inclusiveness that I really admire. It’s a company that says everyone is worth time and involvement and investment. It’s a really great ethos.”
