Kanye 'too ambitious with fashion'
Kanye West has been accused of taking on too much too soon when it comes to fashion.
The hip-hop star unveiled his second A.P.C. x Kanye line last month, with the first selling out in a matter of minutes when it was released last year.
His new offering includes long utility coats with oversized hoods, with denim, khaki and fur accents all featuring too.
It's previously been claimed that Kanye's fashion pieces aren't as unique as those from the high-fashion designers he admires. Now a source claims it is the rapper's decision to work on so many projects which is the problem.
“Maybe some people can do big things in design with no education, but Kanye is really going too far and taking on projects that are too big even for someone who is well-educated and has experience in the field,” the insider told RadarOnline.
“He is holding way too many eggs in his basket, spreading himself too thin and that’s what’s going to be his downfall.”
As well as his A.P.C. line, Kanye is creating a range with ADIDAS, has been completing his Yeezus tour and is planning his wedding to Kim Kardashian for later this year.
The 36-year-old star has long spoken of his dedication to art, claiming people should take him more seriously as he attended art school during a discussion with Interview magazine last month.
However, it's been alleged that doesn't mean he has always been up on the big names in fashion.
"He only attended art school for one semester!” the source claimed. “He was totally clueless about design up until recently. He had no idea about what books to read, or what designers were good, and he had to have people tell him, to take him to Art Basel, fashion week and so on.”
Kanye has been interested in style for many years and previously presented his line at Paris Fashion Week. His Spring/Summer 12 line hit the catwalk at the biannual event in October 2011 and was widely panned by critics for being ill-fitting.
