Karl Lagerfeld shows collection snippets
Karl Lagerfeld has released a teaser video for his new line, Karl.
The legendary designer is launching a new affordable womenswear collection.
The promo debuted on LeWeb and showed small snippets of the range.
Two models, one brunette and one blonde, are shown whipping their hair around.
The clothes were kept just out of shot with just a small hint of tailored jackets and leather biker gloves.
The line will be showcased in January at Paris Couture week and then be made available to the public on January 25 from Net-A-Porter.
In February the collection will also become available on karllagerfeld.com.
The 100 pieces will feature both evening and daywear and will be inspired by rock and roll.
Prices for the garments start at $60 and go up to $450.
Karl was delighted to be able to offer something to a wider audience.
"It's my today's taste and style and a reflection of how I think a great number of people would like to be dressed now," Lagerfeld told WWD. "I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that."
