Kate Hudson: Comfort is chic
Kate Hudson used to match a pink tube skirt with cowboy boots when she was a child, as her mom Goldie Hawn let her wear what she wanted.
The blonde actress regularly graces the red carpet in designer gowns, and is known for her bohemian style.
At the moment, the 35-year-old star is favouring jumpsuits, and loves how comfortable she feels in one. But she concedes the garment can be tricky to get out of when nature calls.
"I wore a sequined Armani [jumpsuit] to Paris Haute Couture this year. It’s like wearing pyjamas during the day, as long as you’re comfortable getting naked to go to the bathroom in a public place," she smiled to British magazine ES.
Her passion for fashion is nothing new, with Kate revealing she's been interested in clothes since childhood. It could be her famous mother's attitude to fashion that's to blame.
"If you asked my mom [Goldie Hawn], she’d say that I was beating my own drum from an early age. I would come out of my room in the morning wearing a neon yellow unitard with a pink tube skirt, cowboy boots and a puffy jacket to go to school in," Kate laughed.
"She never told me to get changed. She wanted me to express myself."
Kate can often be seen in creations by Atelier Versace and wowed at this year's Oscars in a dress by the fashion house.
While she knows what works for her, Kate still looks to outside influences for fashion inspiration.
"I used to look up to Madonna, Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. Now it’s Anita Pallenberg. There’s a picture of her in the South of France during a Rolling Stones recording session and she’s wearing a choker and not much else.
"You know she’s kind of naughty and kind of fabulous, but she knew what she was doing," she gushed.
