Kate Winslet happy with clear complexion

Kate Winslet tends not to wear any make-up unless she's dressing up for a big event.

The British star rose to fame after playing the female lead in 1997's Titanic.

She's known for her porcelain complexion and flawless beauty, but Kate confesses that wasn't always the case.

"In my 20s I suffered with poor skin and it has been a steady road to get my skin good and to keep it that way. I never thought my skin would be the kind that doesn't even require make-up some days," Kate admitted to the British edition of Hello! magazine.

"But apart from when I am going out - rare these days - or for a special event, I don't wear much make-up at all."

As the face of Lancôme's Visionnaire Cx Serum, Kate, 38, uses the product on a daily basis and swears by it for flawless looking skin.

She's also a fan of the odd beauty treatment, especially when she's in America.

"Yes I try to get some good resculpting facials when I can. In the US I visit Tracie Martyn and in the UK I have Indiba facials with Glenda Barton, a Harley Street-based facialist and beauty therapist," he said.

On top of cosmetics and facials, Kate says her formula for staying so youthful looking is actually very simple.

"There's not really any secret. I have a pretty healthy lifestyle; I'm outside a lot and I love food and eating healthily, so that plays a part in feeling good. I drink plenty of water and giving up smoking three years ago transformed my skin, as well as my life," she smiled.
