Kellan Lutz: My clothing line is happy
Kellan Lutz wants to "bring back the happiness" to clothing with his latest fashion range.
The Twilight star launched Abbot + Main by Dylan George last August, in collaboration with Dylan George founder Daniel Guez.
The Hollywood hunk -who also models for the brand - has revealed his inspiration behind the newest season's clothing, saying he wanted an upbeat theme.
"For spring, it's all about staying true to Los Angeles, and incorporating hues from neons to rich, saturated shades of blue," he told People of the latest offering.
"The last couple of years have been about earthy tones, and I want to bring back the happiness, the colour in what you're wearing."
Kellan seriously considered comfort when designing the latest apparel for the brand. The 27-year-old actor believes clothes should feel good before looking aesthetically pleasing.
"It's all about the material, the softness," he mused.
"Growing up, I would go shopping and instead of looking at the colours or brand, I'd go to different stores, find the circular racks and I'd walk around them with my hand out, without looking at the shirts. Once I found one that felt good on my hand, I'd stop to see if I liked it."
Kellan is set to show off his latest pieces at Bloomingdale's, New York, on Saturday. The star celebrated his birthday on Thursday and has gushed about how far he's come in the fashion world.
Kellan is particularly excited that the launch of the new line falls on his birthday weeked.
"It blows my mind that we created a line and it's in a store now, a store that I once saved so much money to shop at," he gushed.
"In a fun way, that's my birthday present. To have my clothes in Bloomingdale's is probably the coolest present I've been given, and to get to hang out with a bunch of fans and supporters it'll just make my day."
