Kerry Washington shows summer style

Kerry Washington went for a red and white patterned summer dress in Beverly Hills yesterday.

The actress attended the 2013 Television Critics Association's Summer Press Tour party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel where she wowed in the sleeveless number.

Kerry's patterned dress was by Giambattista Valli and contained a swirly patterned top section and a striped lower section.

The knee-length dress was finished off with nude coloured pointed Christian Louboutin shoes that lengthened the leg perfectly.

Kerry added a pair of golden earrings from Vhernier that were highlighted thanks to her hair being styled in a relaxed updo.

The Scandal star went for a white Nancy Gonzalez clutch bag and an on-trend pointed light-pink manicure as the finishing touches to her look.

Kerry's stand-out style was recognised last week when she scooped the top spot on Vanity Fair’s 2013 International Best-Dressed List.

The 36-year-old was praised by the fashion bible for turning heads on the red carpet. The magazine noted a stunning pastel pink and green Miu Miu gown she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar's party as being a particular highlight.

Other notable outfits Kerry has sported include a lemon yellow Jason Wu gown she donned at the CFDA Awards.

Kerry beat other stylish celebrities including Britain's Duchess of Cambridge, Victoria Beckham and Charlize Theron to scoop the top slot.

Kerry recently discussed the fashion in her comedy film Peeples. In the movie Kerry got the chance to work alongside one of her style icons Diahann Carroll.

"Diahann is one of my style heroes, she-roes, for sure. She is so elegant and always has been. As for designers, I don’t have one particular design house that I’m committed to or loyal to. I think because I came to this later in life, I really came to fashion through my career," Kerry explained to Refinery29.
