Kim Basinger admits Ryan Gosling is as good looking as everybody thinks.

Kim Basinger prefers men’s clothes to women’s.

The 62-year-old actress was one of the biggest pinups in the ‘80s, after her sexy turn in cult movie 9½ Weeks which featured the infamous feeding scene with co-star Mickey Rourke. She then brought her femme fatale charms to 1997 film L.A. Confidential, but in real life Kim admits she’s not one for glitz and glamour.

“I’m not a red-carpet girl; I’m not a fashionista at all – I’m not feminine enough!” she laughed to The Edit. “I love dressing men; I love men. If I were a fashion designer, I’d design men’s clothes. But as for me? I’m just not very high maintenance. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I shower...”

For the accompanying photo shoot, Kim rocks more tailored masculine looks, including trousers by Alexander McQueen and a suit by The Row. Sneakers and a fedora hat also add to the androgynous vibe.

Over the years Kim has starred alongside some of Hollywood’s most handsome actors, and she’ll soon be reuniting with her L.A. Confidential co-star Russell Crowe in film The Nice Guys.

Ryan Gosling also stars, and Kim confirms he is as good looking in the flesh as he is on screen.

“Ryan is one of the coolest, most polite men that I’ve ever dealt with, in movies or otherwise. He’s natural and kind and sweet. When I first met him, I was like, ‘Is this guy for real?’ And yes, he’s absolutely as good looking and charming as everyone thinks he is,” she smiled.
