Kim Kardashian has supposedly worried friends with her continual shrinking figure.

The reality TV star married rapper Kanye West in May in a lavish Italian ceremony and made no secret about her wish to slim down for the big day.

Dressed in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown, designed by her close friend Riccardo Tisci, Kim looked toned and healthy. But now those close to her apparently think she's overdoing it.

"She's taking things way too far. Kim needs to slow down before she does some real damage," a close friend revealed to British magazine Now.

Kim gave birth to her and Kanye's first child in June last year. While the star relishes being a hands-on-mom to daughter North she's spoken openly about how hard she worked to shed the baby weight she piled on during the pregnancy.

Friends also say Kim is feeling burned by a recent fashion dismissal by Victoria Beckham.

Victoria, who moved from pop star to fashion star, is thought to have been the designer Kim first courted to create her gown but was reportedly turned down.

"Victoria's the queen of reinventing herself. Kim's been studying her career, style and look. It would've been amazing publicity but Victoria declined. Kim was shocked and insulted," the source said, adding Kim now wants to poach staff from Victoria's label to help her further her own career goals.

"She figures if she can't be friends with Victoria she'll beat her at her own game."
