Kim K’s ‘blonde adventure’
Kim Kardashian reportedly thought of dyeing her hair an extremely light colour for quite some time.
The 34-year-old reality star debuted platinum blonde hair colour at Paris Fashion Week on her way to the Balmain show.
And her colourist Lorri Goddard, of Goddard + Bragg salon in West Hollywood, says Kim had been considering taking the leap with the new hairstyle for quite some time now.
"It's a really fun adventure for her!" Lorri gushed to Us Weekly magazine. "It's something she's said outright that she's been thinking about for a while, but the time just hasn't been right."
Apparently Kim thought it was a good idea to go platinum after getting her hair cut into a bob.
Lorri, who also tends to the locks of Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lawrence is happy the stunning star decided to take a risk with her look.
“Now that Gregory [Russell] did that great bob for her, which is such a fresh, cool look, it was the perfect time for her to go on a colour adventure. To just have fun with it!" the hairstylist shared.
Gregory told the magazine he initially cut Kim’s hair on Tuesday night in California.
"The timing was perfect to do [the whole makeover] right before Paris Fashion Week," he noted. "I kept the bob the same length, maybe slightly shorter. But because she was lightening it, I trimmed the ends to straighten it out."
Lorri wanted to bring the fierceness out of Kim while deciding on which hue to apply to the star’s locks.
And the hairdresser thinks she made a good decision, as platinum blonde accentuates Kim’s facial features in a unique way.
"[It's] a really glamorous, rebellious, sexy, and chic colour. And as you can see, she wears it very well,” Lorri smiled, noting the colouring process took four hours to complete.
"The shade is an amazing medley of different platinum hues – a customised blonde-on-blonde journey – so it feels very fresh while still being a nod to that 'Hollywood glamour platinum’.
"[I think the colour] really brings out her beautiful eyes and gorgeous, flawless skin.”
