Kimberly Wyatt: Mohawk days are over
Kimberly Wyatt has joked that while she still loves the punk look, her Mohawk days are definitely behind her.
The 31-year-old former Pussycat Doll used to sport an eye-catching platinum quiff while in the girlband.
While punk still features in her personal style, she's toned it down a little.
"There's still a punk element to my style, but my Mohawk days are well and truly over," she told UK magazine Closer. "I like to mix sophistication with a bit of edge."
Kimberly achieves her look by mixing high-end fashion items with cheaper high street finds. The star saves brights and prints for evening outfits, choosing more casual everyday pieces.
"The best thing I've ever worn on the red carpet was a Stella McCartney silk dress, but it was on loan so I had to give it back. I'm always on the hunt for standout prints. I love a splash of colour, too, but for the daytime I like to keep it simple. A pair of jeans, a tee and a blazer are great for don't-know-what-to-wear days," she explained.
"The most expensive item in my wardrobe is a Louis Vuitton winter coat. I love the British high street though. And I'm always on the hunt for a bargain. Like most Americans, I love the UK Topshop."
For this spring/summer Kimberly will be working the trend for black and white items. She also shared her love of heels, and admitted to being obsessive about footwear.
"I'm addicted to shoes; I have at least 35 pairs in my office. I love Sam Edelman shoes - they are fierce," she smiled. "My stylist and I decided on a mainly monochrome look for this season."
