Kudrow proud of surgery

Lisa Kudrow found having surgery on her nose "life altering".

The American actress is best known for her role as Phoebe in hit comedy series Friends.

While she oozed confidence on the small-screen, Lisa wouldn't be who she is today if it wasn't for undergoing surgery on her facial feature.

She has released a before and after photo to show the changes in her appearance. When she was 14 Lisa's nose was slightly pointy and broad, and following the procedure it is clear she is a lot happier as she beams for a high school photo with a more petite, rounded nose.

"That was life altering. I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous. I did it the summer before going to a new high school," she recalled to The Saturday Evening Post. "So there were plenty of people who wouldn't know how hideous I looked before. That was a good, good, good change."

Even almost ten years on from the end of her iconic show, Lisa is still referred to as her quirky alter ego. The 50-year-old star tries to remain polite when approached by fans but it seems she still isn't 100 per cent confident with her looks as she tries to avoid photos.

"I don't turn around. I never turn around," she laughed when asked what happens if someone calls her Phoebe. "If someone's in front of me, I'll smile and try to be nice. But I don't like taking pictures. Autographs are fine."
