Kylie Jenner: My style's quite dark

Published 06/06/2015

Kylie Jenner says mother Kris has influenced her wardrobe.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and her sister Kendall grew up in the spotlight and are constantly having their fashion choices scrutinised.

While Kendall, 19, is rocking high-end clothes as a model on the runway, 17-year-old Kylie likes playing around with some more gothic looks.

"I think my style is a little bit darker thanks to my mom," she mused to the British edition of InStyle. "There are a lot of skulls around her house and the furniture is mostly black and white. She wears a lot of black too, and I think that's definitely rubbed off on me."

Kylie is used to having all eyes on her, but has also had to put up with some negative sides of fame. There has been plenty of speculation over whether she has or hasn't had surgery, with her full lips a particular talking point. In the end she admitted to temporary lip fillers during an episode of the show.

"It's just an insecurity of mine and it's what I wanted to do," she explained.

Watching back old episodes also makes Kylie take her looks into consideration.

"Sometimes I look at myself on previous seasons of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and think, 'Why didn't you let your hair down then, or put on something nicer?'" she admitted. "I think now I'm much more aware when the cameras are around and I do doll up a lot more."
