Lambert: High heels are agony
Miranda Lambert always marvels at women who can walk in high heels.
The 30-year-old country singer has branched out into the fashion industry by creating her own line of footwear for DSW. While she might be good at coming up with shoe designs, the star admits that she's not quite so good at pulling them off herself.
"I have to give a shout out to Hillary Scott from [country music group] Lady Antebellum. She was strutting around in, like, six-inch heels when she was pregnant!" Miranda marvelled to People magazine.
"I borrowed a pair of hers one time, wore them on the red carpet, and they killed my feet. I was like, 'Girl, how do you do this?'"
Luckily Miranda's collection also features some flat sandals and flip-flops, which means her feet can be comfortable while still looking pretty. She has a clear vision of where she wants to take her fashion business venture in the future.
"Navigating the first few years is going to be about learning what works and doesn’t, style-wise," she previously explained to newsok.com.
"Getting to know [co-designer] Jeff Birnbaum better and working together more will help. I have little ideas, but he can make things [come to life] on paper. It’s starting to come together more — we’re getting more fluid and to be on the same page. I may not be up on the next trend, but I’ll find my own new trend and use it as inspiration."
She added that her aims to keep things "simple", so that her footwear will appear to a wide audience.
