Jennifer Lawrence's loved ones have praised her for being so body confident.
The Hunger Games actress is proud of her curvy frame, even though she has been criticised for it in the past. She recently told Harper's Bazaar magazine she was told she was fat when she first started out in the industry. Far from intimidating her, she now tells anyone who suggests diets around her to "go f**k yourself".
"This was very admirable, we are proud of her," a relative told RadarOnline.com. "Jennifer is so down to earth and she is a positive role model for young people."
The star portrays Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies and is shooting the third instalment Mockingjay – Part 1 at the moment. She may have a lot on her plate but still took time to hang out with her loved ones during a recent break in filming.
"Jennifer will never change, she is so normal and sweet and was in good spirits,” the insider explained. “We are all very proud and protective of her and it was great to spend time with Jennifer because she is very hardworking and busy.”
During her discussion with Harper's Bazaar, the 23-year-old opened up about the pressure on many actresses to stay slim. When she was much younger her frame was criticised and even thinking about the incident now angers her.
"I was young. It was just the kind of sh*t that actresses have to go through. Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet," she recalled.
