Lena Dunham goes for a pixie cut
Lena Dunham has swapped her bob for a cute pixie cut, admitting she loves the low-key new ‘do.
The 28-year-old Girls star debuted her new look on Thursday, after swapping her bob for a short crop.
Lena posted a shot of her new look on Instagram with the caption: “Zero prep required with my new 'do by my hair's soulmate @rheannewhite.”
The actress’ good friend Rheanne owns the Rheanne White salon in New York.
Lena is no stranger to experimenting with her locks.
Last year she dyed her hair blonde and tried out a 60s style bucket cut.
Lena’s new haircut comes after she opened up about reinventing her fitness regime in a new interview.
Following in Jane Fonda’s footsteps, when the actress emphasised feminism and fitness can go hand-in-hand after releasing her famous workout videos 30 years ago, Lena denies her enthusiasm for exercise detracts from her passion for women’s rights.
"I don't think anyone's gonna be like, 'You look so good it's ruined my life,'" she told People magazine. "There's nothing anti-feminist about being healthy."
During her interview with David Letterman on his late night talk show earlier this month, Lena admitted she got inspired to get fit by her parents.
Her father, Carroll Dunham, and mother, Laurie Simmons, are both in tip-top shape at 65.
“Part of the reason I wanted to do it was I was losing my breath when I walked up [a] stair,” she laughed to the talk show host. “And also, both my parents, who are 65, they’re both really exercise fiends. They look really hot, and I was just starting to feel like I was really dragging behind, and I was like, ‘You’re more than twice my age and I look like a bag of trash next to you.'”
