Lena Headey: I always want more tattoos
Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey says her addiction to tattoos is a “terrible thing”.
The Game of Thrones actress already has a vast array of inkings, including swallows across her back and shoulder and a birdcage on her arm.
But Lena, 41, has no intention of giving up her etching addiction.
"I always want more. It's a terrible thing," Lena told MORE magazine. "I'll be outside a tattoo shop and hear the needle and think, 'I could just get a little one that nobody would see ...' "
Many of her tattoos are large and intricate. However, Lena told the publication she has found a way to cope with the pain of being in the tattooist's chair.
"It's something you can't run from. You have to sit and find a way through [the discomfort]," she added. "I find a real calm, a real peace to it."
Lena is currently pregnant with her second child, although she has yet to reveal the identity of the baby’s father.
But while the pregnancy marks a happy new chapter in Lena’s life, she has had a difficult time of late.
Following her split from husband Peter Loughran, with whom Lena has a five-year-old son, the actress suffered from depression.
However, Lena says she is hopeful she has managed to beat the illness.
"I haven't had a spell in a long time. I think some people's brains are just wired that way if you're a thinker. People who never get anxious always amaze me," she said. "The word could be breaking up and they're saying, 'Everything's fine!' Getting older and having kids, you learn how to become less serious about it all."
