Anna Wintour is reportedly making plans to feature Lena Dunham on the cover of US Vogue.
The creator of smash hit TV show Girls is apparently a hit with editor Anna Wintour, who would love to make her a cover girl. Anna is apparently planning a private dinner to woo Lena, in the hope featuring the star will bring Vogue to a new demographic.
"Anna is trying to seduce Lena into bringing her next-generation audience into the Vogue brand," an insider told RadarOnline.
Vogue is a high fashion publication and as such is choosy about who gets the coveted front page. Curvy Lena would be a surprise choice, which is partly why Anna is thought to be so keen on the plan.
"And she’s willing to violate a lot of Vogue traditions to do it, including putting her on the cover even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history," the source explained.
Adele has previously landed the cover of the magazine.
If the rumour does come to fruition, it won't be Lena's debut on the front of such a publication. She graced the cover of UK Marie Claire's October 2013 edition and admitted she was stunned to receive the honour.
"I'm not saying I am a great candidate for the cover of a fashion magazine. But I do love clothes. People are always surprised to hear that - they think I walk around in a washcloth or something," she said. "I do think it takes fashion magazines a minute to be comfortable with variations of any kind. Adele is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but every time I see her on the cover, it's like a crop of her face and it's just so boring at this point. It's such a boring conversation."
