Levine's facial fuzz fiasco

Adam Levine's beard was uncomfortable while filming his movie debut.

The Maroon 5 frontman makes his film debut in Begin Again. His character is the boyfriend of Keira Knightley and for the role, the 35-year-old grew a beard, but it proved to be more than a little uncomfortable.

"I grew it for the movie but half of the beard was fake and half of the beard was real," he explained to the British edition of Cosmopolitan. "It was 95 F sweltering New York heat, and I had this beard glued on; it was uncomfortable. For my first scene ever in a introduction to acting was doing a scene with Keira Knightley wearing pubic hair on my face!"

The Moves Like Jagger singer plays a singer songwriter who makes mistakes under the pressure of his newfound fame. One of those errors is kissing other women when he's spoken for, and thankfully his beard didn't cause him too many problems in that department.

"I think once you get to a certain level of growth they [women] don't care," he mused. "The really rough sandpaper stubble is worse than a beard. Once it grows it's actually pretty soft."

In real life, Adam is engaged to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo.

But beard or no beard, Adam thinks his kissing technique is on point regardless of his facial hair.

"I like to think I've got it pretty sorted in that department," he laughed. "I better had do at this point...I've had enough practice!"
