Lily Allen: I mimicked my sister's make-up

Lily Allen has recalled her first beauty memory.

The British singer is known for being experimental with her beauty looks, which includes dyeing her hair crazy colours.

Her obsession with cosmetics started when she realised her sibling Sarah was into certain products.

"It was a flight to Miami with my sister, talking about our [favourite make-up] being YSL Touche Éclat and a twin lip pencil from MAC which they don't do anymore," she told the British edition of OK! magazine when asked about her earliest beauty memory.

"I was about nine or ten, so my sister was 15. I just wanted to be like her!"

Lily, 29, is currently rocking a purple fringe with a pink ponytail. Her multicoloured locks might go down well with fans, but her husband Sam Cooper isn't quite so convinced.

"It's normally a rescue mission!" she laughed of the frequent dye jobs.

"Years and years ago I had pink hair and it started falling out! But since I was a teenager I've played with colours; it's not how I'm feeling but just for fun.

"Sam hates the hair colour and prefers me more natural. He doesn't really notice but if I changed it back to brown he'd notice me."

Lily and Sam have two daughters together - Ethel and Marnie. However, she says being a mom hasn't made a difference to her beauty regime.

"I have the whole evening, so it doesn't really change at all!" she said.
