Lily Allen ‘realistic about weight loss’

Lily Allen is reportedly happy to wear slimming underwear rather than follow fad diets after the birth of her second daughter.

The British singer gave birth to second daughter Marnie Rose in January, and also raises Ethel, who was born in November 2011. Lily recently returned to the stage with a performance during Paris Fashion Week and covered up her post-pregnancy figure with a loose-fitting dress.

Although Lily is prepared to follow a sensible diet and exercise regime, she is putting her family first.

“Lily says she wants to be a UK size 8 – but she’d be very happy with a size 10 and a pair of Spanx,” a source told British magazine Closer. “Lily always hated dieting, but says she’s embracing it now because she can’t wait to her figure back. She doesn’t follow fad diets because of her past issues with eating, but she’s thrown out the biscuits and is banning takeaways. She’s sticking to a healthy protein-based diet, cutting out sugar and eating organic chicken, salads and eggs. She’s a busy mum and she’s working up to doing gentle exercise, but is working loads. She’s looking to get a trainer to shape up properly.”

It was recently reported that the 27-year-old star is finding it exhausting caring for two young children.

Lily is known for her quirky fashion sense and petite frame and hopes that if she sets herself realistic goals she will be able to fit into some of her favourite pre-pregnancy clothes.

“She says it will be liberating to feel like herself and she wants to show off her body in flattering dresses. But more important than her figure is the fact she has two beautiful children,” the source added.
