Lily Collins' furry coat love

Lily Collins has recalled the first piece of clothing she fell in love with.

The 25-year-old actress is a style inspiration for many of her fans and recently graced the cover of Lucky magazine, looking amazing in a black dress with a lip print.

Now she appears in CR Fashion Book, where she poses as Thumbelina for the magazine's fourth, fairytale-themed issue.

In the accompanying interview, Lily discusses the first piece of clothing she fell for.

“I remember going into a store with my mom in Dublin when I was four or five years old and spotting this amazing pink furry coat with a hood," she recalled. "I thought it was the most incredible thing ever and when we bought it they had to lift me over the register to scan the price tag because I refused to take it off.”

Lily looks great in the CR Fashion Book shoot and appears on a large throne-like chair, dressed in a shimmery, patterned frock. She looks like a natural as she throws the camera a beguiling look, and reveals that she's always had an affinity for clothes.

“I grew up adoring fashion and admiring designers because my mom introduced me to so many different styles of clothing and always let me express myself through my outfits - no matter how wacky and crazy they were," she smiled.

"Because of her influence, I have an incredible respect for vintage, classic as well as modern design."

The English-American star added that she feels her style is European, having grown up in the UK. She wants to remain "classic and chic", but won't ever let it go boring.

"For me, red carpet fashion is all about taking risks while staying true to my own aesthetic. Wear your clothes. Don’t let clothes wear you," she advised.
