Lily Collins loves second hand garb

Lily Collins hunts down second hand shops as soon as she arrives in a new city.

The British actress loves browsing through vintage clothing stores. She finds it exciting to discover something old which will still look great on her.

"When I arrive in a new city, I always try to find out the most interesting second-hand shops," Lily explained to Italian magazine Flair. "I'll give you a tip: there's the Salvation Army boutique in Santa Monica where you'll find fabulous shoes, real collectible items!"

Lily is the daughter of drummer Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman. She is fast becoming a style icon and was chosen by Chanel bosses to wear one of the luxury label's gowns at the prestigious 2007 Bal des Débutantes in Paris.

The 22-year-old star loves Chanel and was thrilled when she inherited a stunning handbag from the famous fashion house.

"I must thank my mother for introducing me to the wonderful world of vintage," she smiled. "I love vintage Chanel. Before her death my grandmother gave me a Chanel bag. Every time I wear it I feel to go out with a piece of my family history."
