Lily Collins ready to take beauty risks

Lily Collins loved how "unique" Karl Lagerfeld made her Autumn/Winter 15 Barrie campaign.

The 25-year-old actress debuted a pixie-crop hairstyle at the Vanity Fair Oscars party last month, where she dazzled in a sparkling black gown by Zuhair Murad.

She wasn't expecting such a big reaction upon unveiling her new look and is pleased her decision paid off in the style stakes.

"I always wanted to cut it all off! Cutting off all your hair is a bold move for a girl, but I’ve been feeling more experimental lately. I’m ready for a different chapter. When you make a decision that intense, I think it brings the right energy," she smiled to style.com.

"It seems to have gotten some good feedback. But I did it for me."

Lily loves using social media to not only interact with her fans but soak up the latest trends in hair, make-up and fashion.

When she isn't busy acting the brunette beauty has other projects on the side, such as her Autumn/Winter 15 campaign for Barrie. She poses in an array of cosy knitwear for the brand, owned by Chanel, and was shot by icon Karl Lagerfeld.

Lily has made no secret of her respect and admiration for the designer in the past and was honoured to be invited by the Chanel creative director to take part in the venture.

"I live in LA, so the idea of working with a brand that was chic and European but also comfortable fits my style perfectly - it’s very LA. Then, at our first shoot, Karl explained to me where he wanted to go with it, taking a tradition of knitwear culture and making it interesting and modern by injecting it with bold texture and patterns. I realised that it was totally unique. Only Karl can do that," she added.
