Lily 'doesn't want to be ‘skinny’

Lily Allen is said to be focusing on being “healthy and happy” rather than slim.

The 28-year-old singer has shrunk from a UK size 16 to 8 over the past year. She has shown off her trim figure at various events, such as the BRIT Awards in London last month.

Rather than aiming to be slim Lily is said to be focusing on keeping fit and upbeat.

“She’s not interested in being skinny – she just wants to be healthy and happy. She finds working out de-stresses her and releases endorphins,” a source told British magazine Look.

“She’s got an exercise bike, treadmill, rowing machines and some weights, plus an elliptical machine [cross trainer] in there. So she spends one hour, five evenings a week working out – doing cardio, mostly.”

When quizzed on whether she has been following a diet to lose weight Lily was quick to dismiss the idea. She also shared her plans to perform her new music on tour.

“No, I’ve not been eating differently. I’ve just been exercising,” she insisted. “I’m getting ready for my tour, you see.”

The brunette musician previously opened up about her weight struggles. Three years ago she admitted to suffering from bulimia and how awful she felt for putting herself through it.

“I used to vomit after meals. It’s something I’m not proud of,” she said at the time. “But, I tell you what, a lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked.”
