Louboutin: Duchess of Cambridge doesn't need advice
Britain's Duchess of Cambridge "doesn't need advice" from top designers, insists Christian Louboutin.
The 30-year-old royal has garnered much praise for her fashion choices since being catapulted into the international spotlight.
Louboutin's red-soled shoes are worn by the most famous women in the world, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham, but he insists Catherine doesn't need high fashion to make her interesting.
"She has all the choice in the world," he told vogue.co.uk. "She's a very elegant young woman. I wouldn't give her any advice - she doesn't need it, let her choose for herself. She's a big girl now."
Louboutin also spoke about being misquoted as far as his designs go.
"People say I am the king of painful shoes. I don't want to create painful shoes, but it is not my job to create something comfortable. I try to make high heels as comfortable as they can be, but my priority is design, beauty and sexiness," he said. "I'm not against them, but comfort is not my focus."
Catherine has become a fashion icon since her highly-publicised wedding to Britain's Prince William in April last year. Her style has been credited with giving the UK economy a $1.6 billion boost after sales of her most popular wardrobe choices have risen.
