Lucy Hale invests in style

Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale has discussed how her style has recently evolved into buying more expensive pieces.

The Pretty Little Liars actress likes shopping and usually hits affordable stores like Urban Outfitters and Free People.

Lucy has started to collect designer items too, naming a Chanel bag and black suede Louboutin boots as recent purchases.

“[My enormous Céline Boston bag] is one of my grown-up purchases,” she grinned to Lucky magazine. “And I only dress up when I have to. I have a great collection of heels but always wear flats.”

The 24-year-old admires glamorous looks sported by other celebrities.

She admitted the red carpet makes her nervous because she knows other stars her age always make stunning appearances at these events.

“I’d like to go shopping with Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe, Kate Moss, Rachel Bilson, Emma Watson, Amanda Seyfried, Selena Gomez," she listed. "I feel like a lot of girls my age really sort of have red carpet nailed down. I'm evolving. Obviously you always want to look your best. But at the same time, you don’t want to be that person who’s trying too hard, you know? It’s hard to be a girl.”

Lucy explained what she likes about her style icons.

She admitted past trendsetters such as Brigitte Bardot don't inspire her as much as modern day muses.

“I love Kate Moss’ effortless, chic street style. She always seems comfortable but amazingly put together," she gushed. "Rachel Bilson and I have almost identical builds, so I look to her to see what would work for me. Emma Watson always looks so elegant but still has a nice edge. She takes great risks.”
