Madonna: Duchess of Cambridge is elegant
Madonna thinks Britain's Duchess of Cambridge has a "great sense of style".
The Vogue singer is famous for her ground-breaking fashion statements.
A style icon herself, Madonna is impressed by Catherine Middleton's taste in clothes.
"[The Duchess of Cambridge] is a lovely girl with a great sense of style," Madonna told People magazine on Sunday at a screening of her movie W.E. in New York City. "Her wedding dress [designed by Sarah Burton for] Alexander McQueen was very beautiful."
Madonna adores Kate's dapper ensembles. The Duchess' refined taste appeals to her.
"I like her choices. She's elegant and still knows how to have some fun. I'm a fan of her style," she said.
Madonna finds royal fashion appealing in general. The singer has always admired the outfits worn by the British monarchy.
"I had an obsession with the royal family starting with Queen Victoria," she quipped.
Madonna is also enraptured by the style of former Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson. Wallis is the focal point in Madonna's film W.E. and the divorcée who King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry in 1937.
"[Wallis] developed a style and stuck with it whether people were interested or not. I admire her individuality," she added.
