Meg Ryan dazzles in shimmery gown at 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards
Actress Meg Ryan stunned in a custom Christian Siriano number at the CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night (05Jun17).
Meg Ryan wowed in white as she made her red carpet return at the 2017 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards.
The You've Got Mail actress has kept a relatively low profile in recent years, but made a surprise appearance at the fashion event held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Monday (05Jun17).
Ryan stepped out in a sequin-covered white gown with spaghetti straps, which was custom-made for her by designer Christian Siriano, who was also her date for the evening.
The gown featured a V-neckline in the front and the back, as well as a short train, with the 55-year-old choosing to wear her hair in ringlets and accessorise the look with a simple diamond bracelet.
"Now that is fabulous! The stunning @megryan in Siriano tonight at the @cfda awards!" wrote Siriano alongside a photo of Ryan arriving at the gala on his Instagram page. "Such a dream to dress this amazing woman."
Ryan's appearance at the 2017 CFDA Awards comes a year after she shocked fans with her dramatically different look at the 2016 Tony Awards. The actress had a quite a puffy face and fuller lips as she took to the stage at the ceremony, sparking speculation that she had undergone plastic surgery.
However, Ryan looked happy and healthy at the CFDAs, with a flawless complexion and twinkly eyes.
The star was last seen onscreen in 2015's Ithaca, which also starred her longtime co-star Tom Hanks.
She is now gearing up to make TV series Picture Paris, which is based on the 2011 short film of the same name written and directed by Brad Hall, and starred his wife, Veep actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Picture Paris is slated to hit screens later this year.
