Mel B 'asks Klum for fashion tips'
Mel B is said to be hoping fellow America's Got Talent judge Heidi Klum can help her in The X Factor style stakes.
The former Spice Girl is a judge on the singing competition alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole.
Cheryl, who used to be in girl group Girls Aloud, is said to have a contact book full of up-and-coming designers as well as high-end brands such as Victoria Beckham and Roberto Cavalli ready to dress her and Mel is reportedly desperate to be able to compete with her on every show.
The 39-year-old has allegedly asked her fellow America's Got Talent judge and supermodel Heidi Klum for her help.
"Mel has already tapped Heidi up to help her get the most attention-stealing and sought-after clothes possible," an insider told British magazine Heat. "Mel doesn't always get the pick of the bunch from designers and she wants to make sure she looks the best she can next to Cheryl."
The publication claims Cheryl, 31, has already been promised Cavalli Couture as well as designs by new, experimental designers. But Mel hopes that Heidi's close links with the fashion elite will pay dividends.
"Heidi's on good terms with everyone in the fashion industry - she's particularly close with Riccardo Tisci, so Mel's hoping she will help her get some Givenchy and she thinks she can get her in with Balmain too," the source continued. "Heidi doesn't mind helping Mel - they've become great mates and she loves a challenge. Heidi lives and breathes fashion, so she can definitely open the right doors for Mel."
Mel is used to looking her best on live TV, having also been a judge on Australia's version of The X Factor, so she is sure she can live up to Cheryl's on-screen fashionista reputation.
"Mel says if she can compete with a top model like Heidi, she can definitely handle Cheryl," the insider added.
