Mel B happy with post-pregnancy figure

Mel B "didn't feel the urge" to get back into shape following the birth of her daughter Madison.

The British singer and her husband Stephen Belafonte welcomed the tot into the world at the beginning of the month. Just three weeks after giving birth, Mel has resumed her duties as a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor.

Sources close to the star say Mel was reluctant to head back to the gym before appearing on the hit talent show, and is instead relying on her body's ability to recuperate.

"She planned to hit the gym before the shows, but didn't feel the urge. After the initial immediate weight loss of the birth, she lost a stone and is now a [UK] size 12, but the weight isn't falling off like she thought it would," a source told Closer magazine.

Mel is also mother to 12-year-old Phoenix, from her first marriage, and four-year-old Angel from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy.

The 36-year-old star reportedly prefers her body post-pregnancy.

"Mel isn't on a super-strict diet, just a balanced low-carb, high-fibre plan. She's given herself eight weeks to get back into her favourite outfits," the source added.

"She jokes she always has a better body after a baby than before!"
