Michelle Williams gushes about Ghesquière
Michelle Williams thinks Nicolas Ghesquière "goes straight to the heart of things" with his collections.
The 34-year-old actress attended the Louis Vuitton show at Paris Fashion Week yesterday and is good friends with the label's designer. She has nothing but admiration for his talent and loves seeing what he comes up with each season.
"Nicolas goes straight to the heart of things,” she told style.com. “He is my favourite person to be seated next to at dinner because he’s incredibly funny and warm and open and perceptive."
Michelle jetted to the French capital just for the show, choosing a simple dark blue denim minidress with a zip down the front and black ankle boots for the occasion.
She looked very smart, but explained she prefers a more laidback approach when she is on a plane. The star has a "travel uniform", which consists of jeans, a denim shirt and blazer.
The actress wasn't the only A-lister in attendance, with Jennifer Connelly also flying in especially for the Autumn/Winter 15 preview. She calls herself a "huge fan" of Nicolas' work, adding that she's always excited in the run-up to his presentations because she can never guess what's going to be in store.
"Like any great artist, I think he is able to show us things that are new, that then become the new norm because they’re so fresh and unusual - and yet they become instant classics," she enthused.
The collection itself presented a new direction for Louis Vuitton, with Nicolas focused on the future. This included giant furry coats in white and slim-knits with funnel necks and fashion-forward cut-outs across the chest.
"The exploration went a bit further," he explained backstage. "There's still a certain respect of the patrimony, but also of technology, [which is] what I like."
