Mindy Kaling: I'm always improving
Mindy Kaling admits there is a "whole list of things" she would change about her appearance.
The 34-year-old actress has previously been open about her body hang-ups and encouraged other women to not suffer the same insecurities.
Speaking in the April edition of Vogue magazine, Mindy revealed she finds it hard to feel comfortable in her own skin.
"There’s a whole list of things I would probably change about myself," she explained to the publication.
"For example, I’m always trying to lose fifteen pounds. But I never need to be skinny. I don’t want to be skinny… I’m constantly in a state of self-improvement."
The raven-haired beauty also spoke about her personal style. Being the star of her own show, The Mindy Project, means she is in the spotlight a lot and aware of which outfits complement her figure.
“I love when your clothes can help you project that you’re witty – you know, when your outfit does some of the work for you,” she added.
“When I’m at my thinnest, I tend to wear things that don’t show off my body. But when I’m bigger, I’ll go body-con, which comes from a place of, ‘This is my perimeter, in case you were wondering if I was actually much bigger.’"
Although she admits she often plays it safe with her clothes, Mindy hopes to be more adventurous in the future.
"It’s really temping to not make changes. But I don’t want to be fearful. I don’t want my tombstone to say, ‘She hid her imperfections well on the red carpet,'" she sighed.
Mindy shared a snap from her Vogue photoshoot on Twitter yesterday. The picture shows her lounging on a wooden chair, wearing a chiffon red and grey dress, with her hair pulled into a side ponytail and smoky eye make-up.
“@voguemagazine?? styled by Sara Moonves (sic)” she wrote to caption the photo.
The issue she appears in features Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover, which has sparked outrage among many fans of the title.
