Minka Kelly: I need comfy clothes

Minka Kelly

Minka Kelly has revealed what she looks for in a red carpet frock.

The American actress has revealed what she looks for when it comes to impressing on the red carpet. Minka admits that practicality is her number one priority when she chooses an outfit for a high-profile appearance.

"I try to be comfortable. I look for something that fits properly so I don't have to be pulling on it or fidgeting with it all night. I've worn dresses where that's the case, and I just decided it's more important to be comfortable, because if you're not comfortable, then you're not confident, and that shows," she explained to Parade.

"I want to feel like myself, and know that I'm wearing the dress and the dress isn't wearing me."

The brunette beauty has wowed on the red carpet in her time, showing off her natural good looks and stunning figure in a range of designer frocks. Minka has revealed her favourite fashion moment.

"It was an Oscar de la Renta dress. It was the lime green, fluorescent yellow dress I wore to the Art of Elysium event last year. That's probably one of my favourite dresses I've worn," she smiled.

When she's not attending high profile events, Minka chooses clothes she can relax in. She shies away from anything too high fashion when she has a day off, but likes to add a pinch of glamour with her choice of footwear.

"I just like being comfortable. I try to wear high heels as often as I can, but I usually end up in a flat, flip flop or sneaker. I love T-shirts and jeans, but I love an excuse to dress up. I'm a tomboy, but I love to be girly too," she said.
