The actress knew it would be a process to shed her baby weight after gaining 60 pounds while pregnant.

Naya Rivera had no desire to focus on her weight during her pregnancy.

The Glee star welcomed son Josey with husband Ryan Dorsey in September (15), and while she was pregnant, Naya indulged in her food cravings because she didn't want to deprive herself. However, after she gave birth, Naya knew it was time to get back in gear in the gym and lose the 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms) she gained. She hired a trainer to help motivate her while working out.

"I completely let myself go when I was pregnant," she tells Fit Pregnancy magazine. "Weight wasn't something I wanted to focus on, so I ate anything and everything and had a blast. Afterward, I was, like, 'Let's get back to business'."

"I know I'm lucky to have a trainer," she continues. "Not all moms can afford one, but I'm not really self-motivated. And I don't know what to do at the gym. I always feel lost. (Without a trainer) I'd probably just end up not working out, and then go to the steam room."

Josey is Naya and Ryan's first baby together and when they found out they were expecting, they knew exactly what they wanted to name their son.

"Ryan already had it picked out before we were even married," she adds. "You know you have those conversations as a couple

- like, 'If we had kids, here's what I'd want to name them?' Well, Ryan had said if he had a boy he'd really want to name him Josey. So we went with that."

The 29-year-old had experience with children before having Josey, because she was once a nanny, but that hasn't stopped her from questioning her parenting skills.

"You're always going to wonder if you're doing things wrong, but that's what it means to be a mom, to care so much about someone else that you just want to be as perfect as possible," she says.

And she knows she can always lean on her husband to be there for her and their child.

"Ryan is a very hands-on, loving, and nurturing dad," she adds. "If Josey doesn't want to go to sleep, Ryan will bust out his guitar and play him some songs, and Josey will fall asleep immediately. It's the cutest thing to watch."
