Neil Patrick Harris for London Fog
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are the new faces of London Fog.
The 41-year-old How I Met Your Mother star married David Burtka in September this year. And now the happy couple have been selected to star in the British company's holiday ads, wearing its outerwear, clothing and accessories.
“We wanted a couple, and they to us really represented a modern iconic Hollywood couple,” Dari Marder, chief marketing officer of Iconix Brand Group, told WWD.
“Each season we change it up a little bit, representing a modern family."
Nino Muñoz took the images, with the campaign breaking in The New York Times on November 30. It will also run in January issues of magazines such as Vogue, InStyle and Men's Fitness.
In the past, the brand has featured Eva Longoria and her now ex-husband Tony Parker and Alessandra Ambrosio with her daughter Anja.
London Fog might be 90 years old, but it's ready to embrace contemporary culture. Dari isn't worried about featuring a same-sex couple or what customers might think.
“I think it will play well. It’s a beautiful, powerful, intimate moment, and it’s still a fashion campaign," she said.
“[The brand is] ready to embrace today. They’re very much a Hollywood iconic couple of today... We have a smart consumer. We think they’ll get it. We don’t think there will be an issue.”
Released images show Neil and David in black and white. In one, they are standing while wearing smart suits with a winter jacket over the top. Another shows the pair sat down, both wearing Macs. David has his arm slung around his husband, while Neil affectionately touches his hand.
The pair are also set to star in London Fog's spring campaign, in which they will preview new men's suits and sportswear for autumn 2015.
