Nicki Minaj for Cavalli

Nicki Minaj's campaign for Roberto Cavalli's Spring/Summer 15 line has been unveiled.

The American rapper is the latest star to front a campaign for the label, taking over from Rita Ora. A series of images of Nicki in pieces from the company's Spring/Summer 15 line have been unveiled, with designer Roberto gushing about her.

"I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman," he said.

"In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes. With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she make them as a strength."

Francesco Carrozzini was chosen to take the photographs, which show Nicki in a series of Roberto's trademark flamboyant prints.

In one she is seen in a floor-length zebra print dress, which boasts a bikini top and flowing skirt. She's also seen gazing into the distance in a white lace gown and donning a pair of shades to accessorise a burnt-orange embellished mini-dress.

In another, the 32-year-old star stares firmly into the camera in a black evening gown. The dress has a halterneck and plunging neckline, giving way to a skirt with transparent panels.

"A strong sensuality goes through the dresses' silhouette in the #RobertCavalli SS15 campaign. #NickiForCavalli (sic)," the label wrote on its Twitter page.

This is another 2014 high point for Nicki, who is currently celebrating the success of her latest record The Pinkprint.
